And everyone is running and running...
USUE students and teachers took part in the country’s most popular race–Cross of the Nation - 2023. The university was represented by about 1000 participants.
In Yekaterinburg, the national running day - Cross of the Nation - started from UrFU square. Athletes of different age groups, as well as all interested residents and guests of the Ural capital, competed at distances from 1 to 12 km. As for USUE students, they ran 1 kilometer.

As explained by a senior lecturer of the USUE Department of Physical Education and Sports, Tatyana Volovik, the largest was the USUE College team led by Azat Dautov. Among the Institutes, the team of Institute of Digital Management Technologies and Information Security, headed by Natalya Shuraleva, was traditionally the most active one. The Institute of Economics and Finance, the Institute of Public Administration and Law, as well as the Institute of Management, Entrepreneurship and Engineering were represented on an equal footing.
“I like to run. This is not the first time I’ve taken part in cross-country running events, but this is the first time on such a large scale! It was easy to run, and given the wonderful weather, it was pleasant. More than half of the guys from our group took part in the race, and they also invited their friends. Cross-country running brings people together!” Alexandra Chebotaryan, a student of the Institute of Public Administration and Law, sports-events organizer of group SE-23-1, shared her impression.
Teacher-curators Elena Davydova and Stanislava Fagina, led by the acting head of the USUE Department of Physical Education and Sports, Maxim Kocheryan, took part in the 2 km race.
The Cross of Nation, one of the most popular sporting events in Russia, is held since 2004. USUE students and teachers are constant participants in the race. In 2022, there were also about 1,000 university representatives who took part in the event.
