Master’s degree - a way to carve your career
Another graduation ceremony of the Institute of Continuing and Distance Education was held at USUE. Graduates of Human Resource Management, Health Economics, and Public Administration programs have earned master’s degrees.
About 30 people from three study groups received the welcome documents on higher education. The vast majority of new masters have been successfully working in senior positions for several years now. They need new competencies to continue moving up the career ladder. And here USUE gives a helping hand.
“When the university invites managers to study, it is always a special responsibility. We and you speak the same language. In the literal and figurative sense. You have already mastered many practical skills; people are already working under your supervision. And I believe that training at USUE has become a useful acquisition for you along this way.” Yakov Silin said at the graduation ceremony.
Besides, the graduates were welcomed by Ekaterina Yalunina, director of the USUE Institute of Continuing and Distance Education, Svetlana Dolzhenko, head of the USUE Department of Labor Economics and HR Management, and Igor Borzunov, head of the USUE Department of Social Economics.
Ekaterina Yalunina stressed that the academic programs of the Institute of Continuing and Distance Education make active use of intra-extramural forms of study with distance learning technologies. This is convenient for students who value their time and study alongside employment.
“I received my basic education at another university. But I undertake a master’s degree at USUE and never regretted it,” Oleg Tselovalnikov, a graduate of the training program Strategic Planning in Public Administration said. “Now I work for Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant. And the knowledge I received during two years of studying under the master’s program is what I need, what I expected.
Currently, about 8,900 students study at the Institute of Continuing and Distance Education, including about 800 foreign citizens.
