Director of the Food Production Facility Svetlana Kuznetsova told that in 2018, the sphere of catering at USUE has undergone many changes. The pastry shop was repaired, the washing place was redecorated and the radiators there were replaced. A new warehouse was equipped.  

Diagnostics and repair of faulty refrigeration, technological and electrical equipment were carried out.   Old equipment was replaced with new one. One of the major acquisitions was a convection oven for the pastry shop. Besides, the Food Facility received induction cookers, electronic scales, and "microwaves". Kitchen and tableware are periodically renewed.

Well timed were new production tables, including refrigerated one, with granite and beech surfaces, washing baths with seamless sinks, shelves for finished products, an air sterilizer, and a planetary mixer helping to improve the quality of cooking and job conditions for workers. "New equipment ensures high quality of cooking. For example, a convection oven, besides quality, promoted a significant increase in the volumes of flour and confectionery products. We were able to broaden the range of products,” Svetlana Kuznetsova says.

Speaking of healthy nutrition, it should be noted that in 2018, the USUE Food Production Facility stopped buying Pepsi and Coca-Cola drinks. Instead, they switched to making compotes, fruit drinks, and fruit tea of own design.

Instead of a kiosk, which was located on the square in front of the central entrance to the University,   in the "Forum Cafe" there appeared a cafeteria buffet. It can be entered only from the street. That means that the cafeteria works for everyone, for any passerby. "Especially for the cafeteria   we completely updated the range of flour products. We offer hot meals, salads, pies, and assorted buns and brew two types of coffee.   Only there you can try our exclusive dainties: cones with fresh spinach and cheese, chicken pies, following an old recipe, with layers of pancakes and stuffing of three types of minced meat.

We make parcels of unleavened low-calorie dough with cottage cheese and cowberries,” Svetlana Kuznetsova introduces the menu, emphasizing affordable prices at the University catering points. USUE food courts serve about 2 thousand visitors. An average bill in the cafeteria is 64 rubles, in the Forum Cafe - 152 rubles. In the student canteen, the average check varies from 73 to 84 rubles, depending on the weekday. In the canteen, University staff can celebrate anniversaries and other family holidays. They willingly order birthday pies, jellied meat, dumplings, and meat rolls at the University Food Production Facility.
