The youth forum "Professional Growth" was held in Yekaterinburg on November 17. Students and graduates of Yekaterinburg universities participated in master classes, trainings, and business games, undertook career-oriented computer testing, wrote and checked resumes together with career coaches.
Large Russian and international companies representing various sectors of the economy told about open development programs for young professionals and answered questions about employment. This year, there was a new form of activity for forum participants - one-to-one CV- checking. In face-to-face communication with career coaches, students could check their resume, correct mistakes, add some information or remove unnecessary, and adjust its structure.
Together with companies, Yekaterinburg universities organized self-presentation. Thus, the employees and students of Ural State University of Economics both participated in master classes and trainings and talked about their studies at the university.
The company SKB Kontur held a master class on the topic "Do not Stick but Play. How to Defeat Laziness and Achieve Goals through a Game." The specialists told about the methods of organizing their lives, studying and working through a game.
"At the heart of this approach is imagination. An easy version of the game is: you have some boring business, you just need to imagine that you, for example, a robot, a supergiant or a princess, and do it the way your hero would do it. This may dramatically change the attitude to the process," the speaker said.
In the nearby room, Ekaterina Knyazeva, corporate trainer of Alfa-Bank in Yekaterinburg, conducted a master class students learned to perform tasks by using a circle of friends and acquaintances (networking).
"There is no theory here, only actions. The students understand what networking is and establish these useful links here and now. They would leave us with new acquaintances that would help them develop their career," Ekaterina said.
The Youth Forum "Professional Growth" is a meeting place for employers and young professionals. In Yekaterinburg, the forum is held with the support of the Department of Youth Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region.
