ROUNDTABLE LEGAL REGULATION OF MICROFINANCE ORGANIZATIONS ACTIVITIES

February 5, the Department of Civil Law held a roundtable "Legal Regulation of Microfinance Organizations Activities". The faculty, students, and representatives of law enforcement bodies took part in its work.

Of particular interest was the report delivered by Lieutenant Colonel Alexei Lopatin, head of the department for combating crimes in the financial and credit sphere, devoted to "financial pyramids." The reporter noted that the activities of such organizations cause significant damage to the rights of citizens, creates hotspots of social tension, and undermine public confidence in financial institutions.

In conclusion, the participants of the roundtable came to the conclusion that it was necessary to establish permanent interaction between law enforcement bodies and members of the scientific community aimed at the formation of a civilized market of financial services.
