WHO IS THE BEST COOK AT USUE?
To cook a dish from your favorite book is not an issue at all for USUE students. The contest of the best cooks was held at the University.
According to the organizers of the USUE Students Trade Union, the main goal of the "Book of Tastes" contest was to popularize healthy food and to learn the culture of cooking.
Five teams took part in the competition. By the rules, each of them cooked a meal from some book. The participants were given 1 hour and 30 minutes for cooking and laying the table. At the final presentation, the contestants told the jury the background of their culinary masterpieces and explained how they were related to the chosen book.
The participants of the "Book of Tastes" contest Ekaterina Andrievskykh and Anatoly Kuzovlev from the team "Zaiki -culinary" told about their meat pie, "Our pie is called "Quidditch Players’ Pie". This dish is from the Harry Potter universe, from books about him; unfortunately, it was not mentioned in the film. In general, its history is that the members of the Quidditch players team often before the game ate such a meal because it is very nutritious, tasty and energizes to win."
The jury evaluated the taste, food presentation, table setting, and the complexity of cooking. According to the results of the contest, Maxim Mokin took first place. Single-handed, he cooked an unusual soup with smoked meat. The second place went to the team "Coffee with milk." Its members Maria Nazukina and Eugenia Krylova surprised the jury with a lemon pie. The third place was taken by "Zaiki-culinary". Ekaterina Andrievskikh and Anatoly Kuzovlev baked a substantial meat pie.
The prizewinners were awarded Letters of Thanks and certificates from the partners of the contest.
