Unforgettable trip to Crimea

Late July, activists of Ural State University of Economics Anna Fomina, Alexander Popov, Ekaterina Nuzhina, Alexei Nosov, Igor Pestov and deputy director of the Institute of Economics Natalia Frolova went to the Crimea. Such a journey became possible thanks to the victory in the youth quest "A Day with DOSAAF".

The trip was designed for 5 days; the route of the USUE delegation trip was compiled according to the recommendations of the University Rector Yakov Silin, who personally gave instructions to the students before departure.

July 27, students arrived in Anapa and the same evening went to Feodosia, where they visited the picture gallery named after I.K. Aivazovsky - one of the oldest museums in Russia and the first public gallery in the south of the country. At present, the gallery collection is a unique complex of paintings, graphics, archival and photo documents, memorial things and objects of decorative and applied art. The basis is composed of works by I.K. Aivazovsky, as well as his contemporaries, artists of the southeastern Crimea K.F. Bogaevsky. M.A. Voloshin, N.S. Barsamov, and contemporary artists. The exposition is located in the house of Aivazovsky and the mansion of the artist's sister.

July 28, the USUE students arrived in Sudak and went to the resort village of Novy Svet. Since the end of the XIX century, there was the estate of Prince Lev Golitsyn, a famous Russian winemaker. In those days, the village was called "Paradise.”

After that, the students went to Mount Karaul-Oba, which is an ancient coral reef 341 meters high, made of strong limestone of organic origin. In addition, the students managed to see the royal bay and the Genoese fortress, built as a stronghold for the colony in the northern Black Sea coast. Today the fortress is one of the most visited places in the Crimea. It often hosts various festivals and events. The fortress is an object of cultural heritage of federal significance.

Besides, the USUE students had a chance to visit the Livadia Palace. This is the last building of the Russian Empire, created for the family of the Romanovs, a real treasure of the south coast. At different times, the guests of the palace were prominent world politicians and artists; at various times it hosted conferences and international meetings. In 2011 the Livadia Palace celebrated its 100th anniversary. Today it is open to everyone; there is a museum in its halls, where visitors can see two permanent expositions. One of them is devoted to the stay of the crowned family in the Crimea, the other - to the Crimean Conference held in this palace. In addition, temporary thematic exhibitions are held on a regular basis, so that everyone who wishes could join the history of Russia through the prism of events that took place within the walls of the Livadia Palace.

July 30, the students strolled along the embankment of Yalta and visited Ai-Petri mountain. They climbed on the top by the aerial ropeway, which is the largest in Europe, and then descended by car along a serpentine road. The height of Ai-Petri is 1234.2 meters above the level of the Black Sea. It should be noted that the top of the mountain is practically even and flat. In the photo of Ai-Petri, often you can see its original spurs, which make up one of the most beautiful views on the whole mountain range, and since 1947 officially are a natural monument. These spurs occupy an area of about 614 hectares in the form of four large (about 80 meters high) and many small spurs on the ridge. The reason for the formation of these spurs is the gradual weathering of limestone from the reefs of the Upper Jurassic Sea.

Further, the USUE delegation went to the boarding house Ecopark, which is located in the Bakhchsarai district. In the boarding house, they stayed until 2 August. At that time, students from other Russian cities were vacationing there; there were many leisure and entertainment activities. It is noteworthy that the USUE students actively participated in different competitions.

During the trip, the students honorably represented their University, enriched themselves spiritually and intellectually and returned to Yekaterinburg on August 5 with a lot of positive emotions and impressions.
