New Literacy: USUE performed an educational experiment within the framework of the IV Ural Industrial Biennale
The Institute of Finance and Law of Ural State University of Economics jointly with the team of the IV Urals Industrial Biennale held the Day of Individual Financial Design.
A whole day in the yard of the Instrument-Making Plant on the embankment of the Iset river, there were fascinating and unusual in format events aimed at increasing financial literacy. It is symbolic that this experiment was held on September 1, the Day of Knowledge.
For many years, USUE organizes a large number of events to improve financial literacy for citizens of all ages. The team of experts is constantly looking for new forms of training and loves to experiment, which fits perfectly into the concept of the Biennale "New Literacy". The event coordinator Elena Ovsyannikova became the winner of the All-Russian Award of Financiers "Reputation" including for the projects “A Tram of Financial Literacy" and "Financial Special Forces", which are already familiar to residents of the city.
The lecturers and participants in active discussions were the Deputy Director of the USUE Institute of Finance and Law Elena Ovsyannikova, chair of Department of Financial Markets and Banking, Professor Maxim Maramygin, head of Information Security Department at "VUZ-Bank" Natalia Shitova, and Associate Professor at the USUE Department of Financial Markets and Banking Vasily Tatyannikov. During the day, the visual design of the project was supported by an expert in the field of imaging, a business coach, and a scriber Marina Hamova.
The program was designed for participants of all ages. Children together with their parents created and painted the "Financial Tale", simultaneously studying where the money comes from and what the family spends it on. Adolescents, accompanied by financiers, were building their businesses in “Monopoly” and “Money Flow”. For all comers, a series of lectures and talks took place. The financial pros considered a cycle of a regenesis of an enterprise through a film "Other People's Money". The experts also talked about the contribution the Urals made to the history of Russian money, about the recipes of competent modern investments, about the development of the digital economy, and protection against fraudsters.
