USUE and DIVS signed a cooperation agreement

August 18, at the Yekaterinburg Palace of Team Sports (Russian abbreviation -DIVS), an agreement on cooperation between USUE and DIVS was concluded. The document was signed by the USUE Rector Yakov Silin and director of the Palace of Sports Gennady Sevastyanov.

Gennady Sevastyanov said that for the Palace of Sports this is the first agreement of such a kind: "In our palace, during a year, we host about 400 events of different levels and sports. I think it will be very interesting for USUE students to come to us. I hope that visiting an event, they will also come to our museum. Let us see how matters will go, and may be we will extend the cooperation. "

Yakov Silin: "Our University trains future leaders. Ural State University of Economics traditionally pays much attention to the sport. Studying is uppermost but a serious leader is obliged to go in for sports. DIVS is one of the best Russian sports institutions. In the course of its existence, it has proved it. There are many sports competitions here - students must learn by these examples. We teach the profession but students should visit other institutions, especially sporting ones, to be a harmonious human being. We also cultivate sports at our University but I would like students to drop into the museum of sports history and become acquainted with the history of sports of the Sverdlovsk region. There is never too much education or too much culture: a good leader must be well-rounded, and without sport this is impossible. Sport is a huge part of the life of any straight-thinker. I am grateful to Gennady Sevastyanov for this opportunity of cooperation."

Within the framework of the agreement, the Museum of Sports History of the Palace of Team Sports and Ural State University of Economics will jointly organize events (competitions, conferences, roundtables, and others) aimed at patriotic and cultural-educational upbringing of the youth. The parties expressed hope that the cooperation would help support interest in studying achievements in the field of sports and physical culture of the Urals.
