Focus on patriotism
Acting Governor of Sverdlovsk region Yevgeny Kuyvashev presented its election program draft «Five Years of the Sverdlovsk Region Development» for 2017-2021. It identifies five main objectives: «the realization of human potential» through the development of medical and social protection systems, economic development, comfortable living environment, development of small and medium-sized businesses, development of local self-government, where the main focus will be the patriotism development.
Ural State University of Economics supports these tasks. Special attention is paid to develop patriotism at students. According to the USUE Rector Yakov Silin, the training of students should be done through bringing up, «We train future managers of different levels and would like to see our graduates not only in business but also in government bodies. And if these managers themselves are ill-mannered, who needs their knowledge? Bringing up is no less important for students than the educational process.»
Among the ongoing educational and patriotic events, the most important are Victory Waltz, meetings with Heroes of the Russian Federation, and the work of search team «Honor and Memory.» One more project is the «Hour of Diplomat». Representatives of 160 nationalities live in the Sverdlovsk region, and more than 30 diplomatic missions of various countries are located in Yekaterinburg. Their officials tell our students about the countries they represent, about the work of the diplomatic corps, and how they cooperate with our region, with the Urals, and with Russia as a whole.
We pay great attention to the work of the University Museum. On the eve of the 50th anniversary, it was repaired, new equipment and furniture were placed there, and its store-rooms were opened, so that students can learn more about the life of previous generations. The University concluded cooperation agreements with a number of museums, including the Winged Guard Museum of the Airborne Forces, the military equipment museum «Battle Glory of the Urals» in Verkhnyaya Pyshma, and the Museum and Veterans Complex of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region.
Patriotism is the foundation of any society and any state, the support of their viability and the necessary condition for the efficient functioning of the whole system of social and state institutions. USUE conducts a policy of educating true patriots and citizens of our country.
