The best in profession: USUE students have won in the III Abilympics National Professional Skills Competition

December 19, at the Ural College of Construction, Architecture and Entrepreneurship, the members of the Sverdlovsk region team of the III Abilympics National Professional Skills Competition for people with disabilities were solemnly awarded.  Among the winners were two USUE students.

The award ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of General and Professional Education of the Sverdlovsk region Yuri Zelenov. He greeted and thanked the winners of the Competition.

"The movement of Abilympics is steadily gathering pace. As early as 2015, 295 people from 30 constituent entities of the Russian Federation participated in the Competition. In 2017, there were 930 of them, and the number of entities increased to 73. Over the period of three years, the number of competencies also increased: in 2015, the winners were selected in 30 professions, now - in 67. Almost the entire country is involved in this unique Championship, which gives our children an opportunity to master the profession," Zelenov said.

A four-year USUE student Alena Novoselova took first place in the competence "IFRS Accountant." A USUE master’s student Yuri Itunin won in the category "Programming".

 USUE was one of the sites of the regional stage of the Competition of professional skills for people with disabilities. The experts of the contest chose the best hairdresser, house painter, and web designer: the participants represented their skills in 12 working professions.

It should be noted that USUE is the only university in the Sverdlovsk region, which has prepared and registered its students for participation in the Abilympics National Professional Skills Competition for people with disabilities. The competitions were held in Moscow from 1 to 3 December.
