International Chefs Day at USUE

October 19, on the eve of the celebration of the International Chefs Day, 17 teams from different cities of the Sverdlovsk region competed in culinary skills and table laying at Ural State University of Economics.

This year, teams from Beloyarsky, Kamyshlov, Turinsk, Krasnoufimsk, Kamensk-Uralsky, Alapaevsk, and Yekaterinburg came to demonstrate their culinary talents.

At the solemn opening of the International Chefs Day, Svetlana Ostrovskaya, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Supply of the Sverdlovsk Region, Arkady Ponomarev, President of the Sverdlovsk Region Association of Cooks and Restaurateurs, Alla Dobrushkina, Honored chef of the Sverdlovsk region, and USUE Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Sergei Rogozhin.

The jury of the culinary contest took an oath to judge the works of the participants strictly and fairly. They marked dishes of the participants in the contest "Art-class" in the evaluation sheet, and then went to the serving area. There, two members of the jury sat at the table and assessed its decoration, as well as the quality of service.

The third zone of the International Chefs Day was a children's culinary master class, in which first-graders of Lyceum No.173 took part. The children made a gastronomic sketch: a picture devoted to autumn using kitchen herbs and spices. The masterclass was held by a Ural artist Nadezhda Matsenko.

It should be noted that the event was held with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Supply of the Sverdlovsk Region and the Association of Cooks and Restaurateurs of the Sverdlovsk Region.
