READY! SET! GO! USUE STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN THE MILITARY QUEST A DAY WITH DOSAAF

On February 15, a youth quest "A Day with DOSAAF" was held at Ural State University of Economics. Twelve teams had to overcome eight difficult stages of the competition. The students passed through a minefield with their eyes closed, rescued a drowning man, learned to assemble and disassemble small arms, and trained some skills in military medicine.

One of the most popular stages among the participants was shooting at a shooting gallery. The students admitted that despite the fact that the shooting range was virtual they felt like real fighters. The weapon models turned out to be as close as possible to the real ones and there was almost no time left to aim and release the trigger: the targets appeared for a few seconds. However, the students coped with the test and many of them showed very good results.

During the quest, the participants became acquainted with the exhibitions of aircraft models, small arms, and equipment, as well as with samples of automotive vehicles. In the end, all the teams were treated to a dinner of a military field kitchen.

The military quest at USUE is conducted jointly with the Sverdlovsk regional branch of DOSAAF of Russia and, as the USUE Rector Yakov Silin said, such meetings will become traditional: "The second time we hold a military quest and we are going to hold it every year. The biggest benefit of participating in such events is that you claim to be an individual. Anyone who is not afraid to test oneself in an honest, fair and intelligent struggle would be a true character and could become a serious leader."

Major-General Arkady Vorobkalo, Chairman of the Sverdlovsk regional branch of DOSAAF of Russia, noted that over the past two years the number and quality of patriotic events held at USUE had significantly increased, "Your University is a powerful foundation of patriotism. Over the past two years, the number of such meetings has significantly increased and their quality is the highest. We help in this and put up the youth to our educational institutions and their capabilities. Carrying out such events, we revive the love to the Fatherland, as well as the ability to be courageous and defend its interests."
