«As much we are tight-knit, so strong we are»

At Ural State University of Economics, the culture festival «Around the World in 7 Days» was launched. Today, representatives of different countries discussed international problems and projects and learned to dance lezghinka.

A master class from the lezghinka school «Khazar» was held by teachers Rasul Rasulzade and Muraz Niyazalov. Rasul stressed the importance of holding interethnic festivals, «We, as the bearers of culture, were invited to show and tell what the lezghinka is. Today, there will be a practical class. Such festivals as you have at USUE are important: here people become acquainted with culture of other nations. As much we are tight-knit, so strong we are.»

All the participants of the master class experienced many positive emotions and learned the basics of a beautiful national dance.

At the end of the day, guests from different countries gathered at a round table to discuss the interaction of international youth organizations in Yekaterinburg and outline plans for the forthcoming year.

A welcoming speech was delivered by the chair of Yekaterinburg AIS Elchin Rasulov. He invited all the participants to unite, «Everyone here is a leader in his or her small territory. If we unite our efforts and support each other, we will be able to raise the international level of interaction among young people to an entirely new level.»

Director of the Department for International Cooperation at the Ministry of International and Foreign Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk region Oleg Alexandrin noted that state bodies would like young people to understand what political organizations are doing. «You need to know what your prospects are. Today we have a chance to discuss the possibility of uniting different nationalities. It is possible to establish an organization that will help to solve global problems the regions and the city face,» he suggested.

«The Ministry of Foreign Affairs gives importance to interaction with youth organizations, but, unfortunately, it cannot always fully and efficiently cooperate on an ongoing basis. The idea of uniting is good. Maybe you could solve the problems over which the current politicians are grappling with,» Mikhail Kosarev, the third secretary of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s office in Yekaterinburg said.

Members of foreign students core groups of Yekaterinburg told about the activities of their organizations, as well as about the most significant and large-scale events.
