The science of finance, management and marketing: a new dissertation council on economic sciences starts functioning at Ural State University of Economics
June 20, the opening session of a new joint dissertational council on economic sciences D 999.118.02 was held.
The Russian Higher Attestation Commission (VAK)’s decision 398/nk of May 10, 2017, launched a new joint dissertation council for the defense of Ph.D. and doctoral theses in the Urals based on two universities: Ural State University of Economics and South Ural State University (National Research University). The Council will work within number the framework of specialty 08.00.05 "Economics and management of the national economy" in the fields of "Marketing" and "Management", as well as specialty 08.00.10 "Finance, money circulation, and credit". The council includes leading scientists in these areas from two universities, as well as invited specialists from St. Petersburg State University of Economics (FINEC) and Ural Federal University.
The work on the establishment of a new council began a few years ago. It is no secret that it is becoming more difficult to meet the requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation today to the defense of candidate and doctoral dissertations. The requirements for the activity of dissertational councils are getting stiffer every year. Against the backdrop of closing a number of dissertational councils in the country, the opening of a new council is a sign of trust and respect for the economic scientific schools of Ural State University of Economics and South Ural State University, and recognition of long-term successfulness of cooperation between our universities in training academic personnel.
«The opening of the dissertation council is a landmark event in the scientific life of the Urals,» Yakov Silin, Rector of Ural State University of Economics, stressed. «The initiative to establish a dissertational council is a joint initiative of our universities, this is a common desire, joining forces, to become stronger... Scientific schools in various fields of economic sciences have arisen and are successfully developing at Ural State University of Economics and at South Ural State University. I am sure that in the course of the new dissertation council’s work a constructive dialogue, exchange of opinions and experience of our scientists will be built, which will further enhance the level of scientific research in the areas of finance, management, and marketing.»
As a result, the economic scientific community of the Great Urals has received a new powerful incentive for its development and conducting research in the areas of finance, money circulation, credit, marketing, and management.
