The search season 2017 has come to the end

The search group of Ural State University of Economics "Honor and Memory" returned to Yekaterinburg.  During the Memory Vigil period, the group raised the remains of thirty Soviet soldiers, whose reburial took place on August 21 in Kursk, in the park "Solovinyaya Roshcha". 

Maria Sinitskaya, the commissioner of our group and experienced searcher of three seasons, described this "Memory Vigil" as follows: "In Kursk, people differ a bit from Yekaterinburg citizens.  I was afraid that we would be like strangers there but we were received very warmly.  Working next to such people, the search activity does not seem heavy: we worked side by side, helping each other as much as possible.  And in the evening we sang songs to a guitar." 

Ivan Novoselov, for whom it was also the third vigil, regrets only that they could identify nobody to return home the memory of a battle route and the last day of the missing soldier. 

Irina Bogdanova, the group commander, summed up: "Kursk searchers perfectly organized excavations in the area under examination. In the Kursk region, there were the bloodiest and most terrible battles of the Great Patriotic War. There are still many soldiers who had not yet rest in peace. All the soldiers of our group worked conscientiously. It was a little sad to return from the Memory Vigil, as always - you get used to the team, to the hearty atmosphere. However, you think about what you would do next season."

The members of our group instructed first-year students and received thanks for their work from the Committee for Youth Affairs and Tourism of the Kursk region.

It should be noted that not for all members of our group this search season ended: Taras Marchenko and Victoria Spiridonova now are continuing search operations in France.
