The annual International Forum "Legal Science in the Ural" traditionally starts on October 2 with an international scientific and practical conference. This year the Government of the Sverdlovsk region and the Legislative Assembly will discuss issues covering the main topic - "Human Rights in the Face of Threats and Challenges of the 21st Century: International and National Protection Experience (devoted to the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution of 1917)."
The permanent organizers of the legal forum are the Human Rights Ombudsman in the Sverdlovsk Region T.G. Merzlyakova, the Sverdlovsk Regional Office of the Association of Lawyers of Russia, the Sverdlovsk Regional Branch of the RSPA, the Council of the Ural School of Human Rights, and University for Humanities.
Ural State University of Economics contributes annually to these important events. Its teachers and students are their active participants. This year, a speaker at the section "Protection of Human Rights in Russia: Main Problems, New Threats and Challenges, Activities of National Human Rights Institutions, Strategies for Interaction between Government and Civil Society" will be Tatyana Filippovskaja, senior lecturer of faculty of the Department of Economics of Social Sphere, with the report "Escaping to the Domestic Emigration - a Russian Form of Protest Against the Legalization of Illegal Practices".
