Reset was successful: the final of the Eurasian session of high school students

In early summer, Ural State University of Economics has traditionally opened doors to high school students. During the month, 650 children of 8-11 grades from all districts of Yekaterinburg attended master classes and interactive events at USUE, studied the basics of the world economy, were engaged in teambuilding and learned public speaking.

The theme of the fifth Eurasian session of high school students was "Reset. We are Going into Space." At the opening ceremony, each of the 27 students’ units presented themselves: "Gravity", "Sirius", "Orbit", "Attraction", "Stratosphere", "Fallen from the Moon", and others.

During the session, students were engaged in culinary master classes, trainings on teambuilding, and participated in the BBQ festival at Plotinka, dance karaoke battle, and mind game "What? Where? When?" All USUE departments conducted interactive classes, business games, and delivered fascinating lectures. The students checked the received knowledge on the basics of the world economy and finances at the monopoly quest. Besides, before the opening of the session, they participated in the "Green Marathon" organized jointly by USUE and its partner - Ural Bank of Sberbank of Russia.

The session organizer and counselor of unit №1 Alexander Moskvin noted that this year the counselors were professionals. "They have some experience of communication with children and are able to organize the event at the highest level. If for previous sessions we planned master classes, quests, and games about a month or two months before, this time the preparation started since February," Alexander Moskvin said.

Alexander Krekhin (gymnasium №5) from detachment No 27 was a Eurasian session participant for the first time. "It's much more interesting here than in other universities camps. Most of all I remember the Day of Neptune, as we ran, and then came back and hid from the rain. And my birthday, and how my unit congratulated me, it was wonderful!. And what smart counselors we have, violinist and guitarist."

At the closing of the session, students received Certificates of Achievements and valuable prizes from the University and its partners. The students and counselors showed themselves at the closing ceremony at their best: there were bright and emotional performances, a lot of smiles, and beautiful dances.

"The Eurasian session of high school students has come to an end. For the last five years, USUE opens its doors to children, introducing them to the university life. The jubilee year did not become an exception for us, it brought new events, helped us realize our mistakes and shortcomings. Next time there will again be a session, new classes, as well as the favorite BBQ festival, night gatherings, and the day of Neptune. I do not tell anyone "Farewell", instead, it is more appropriate to say "See you soon!" Reset yourselves and your summer, forge ahead," Ivan Golubykh, the chairperson of the USUE Association of Student Unions, wished goodbye to high-school students.

The Eurasian session of high school students is not only entertainment, where children have a great time, make pleasant discoveries and make new friends. There is also a vocational guidance component: the session helps schoolchildren decide on their future profession.
