From October 15 to October 18, the 4th annual festival of cultures "Around the World in Seven Days" will be held at Ural State University of Economics. Traditional dresses and dishes of national cuisines, folk dances and songs will be presented by the missions of 17 countries. The event will be attended by foreign students from USUE and other universities of the Sverdlovsk region.
The geography of the festival expands every year. Participants from Poland, Greece, Germany, Belarus, Latin America, Africa, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Vietnam, India, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Tajikistan, Arab countries, and the Republics of Sakha and Bashkortostan will introduce the traditions and culture of their countries to visitors.
The program of the event includes presentations and master classes of national cultural traditions and cuisine of Bashkiria, Uzbekistan and China with tasting session. The guests of the festival will be able to learn the basics of the most famous Caucasian dance - lezghinka, try on African national clothes, and play ethnic musical instruments.
The opening ceremony of the festival will take place on October 16 at 15.00 at the Recreation Center of Ural State University of Economics. VIP guests, USUE rector Yakov Silin and the president of the Association of Foreign Students of Russia Yaw Adu Nikez are expected to take part in it.
