Viktor Kovalev, chair of the USUE Department of International Business, took part in XII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Economic Growth of the Republic of Belarus: Globalization, Innovation, and Sustainability" held in Minsk at the Belarus State Economic University.
It should be noted that USUE Vice-Rector for Research, Elena Dvoryadkina represents Russia in the international scientific committee of that conference. There are close contacts between USUE and BSEU in the field of scientific and educational cooperation.
In 2019, their reports at the conference were presented by the chairperson of the Committee on National Statistics of the Republic of Belarus Inna Medvedeva, First Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Chervyakov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus Dmitry Kalechits, Deputy Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus Andrey Kartun, and other representatives of the government authorities, business and academic community of the Republic of Belarus, Russia, Poland, Italy, Ukraine, and China.
Viktor Kovalev, chair of the USUE Department of International Business made a presentation “Barriers, exemptions, and restrictions in the system of Eurasian integration: tools of economy of trust”. The topic aroused intense interest and lively discussions since the participation of the Republic of Belarus in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the country's trade and economic cooperation with Russia in the context of integration processes in the EAEU space is now in the sphere of interest of a large number of BSEU scientists.
Besides, Viktor Kovalev delivered a public lecture for students and teachers of the BSEU School of International Economic Relations devoted to trade and economic cooperation in the EAEU system. Based on case studies and practical examples, Belarusian students and faculty members were able to see the positive and negative aspects of integration processes in the modern world economy, assess the extent of changes in the regulatory framework affecting customs regulation of the Republic of Belarus and Russia when forming the EAEU, and receive audience relevant and useful information about the prospects for further cooperation between our countries.
Viktor Kovalev and the Dean of the BSEU School of International Economic Relations, Alla Pranevich discussed prospects for further scientific and educational cooperation of the USUE Department of International Business with the Belarus State Economic University and the possibility of filing joint applications of BSEU and USUE for research grants, funded by the joint government programs of the two countries.
