USUE basketball players participated in ASB FEST 2017
From 22 to 28 July, Alushta (Crimea) hosted the second All-Russian festival of student basketball "ASB FEST 2017". The event was attended by the best players of student basketball teams from all over Russia, including USUE women’s team. Participants visited master classes from known athletes, competed in 1×1, 3×3, 5×5 tournaments, and participated in numerous competitions.
During the festival, our basketball players were up to the challenge and show their teamwork. In 1×1 game Tatiana Katt steadily beat her competitors, and only in the end lost to the player, who became a champion of "ASB FEST 2017" in 1×1 game. Together with its main competitor (UrFU team) the USUE team won several 5×5games. USUE students won two silver and two bronze medals.
Our players participated not only in basketball games. The festival provided an opportunity to pass GTO test. Varvara Batina was qualified for the quarterfinals in fanball.
The highlight of the festival was a series of meetings with renowned coaches and athletes, united by the slogan "ASB Motivates." For several evenings the Olympic champions - coach Yevgeny Gomelsky and players Irina Sumnikova and Svetlana Antipova - told a lot of interesting stories about their professional achievements and the most brilliant victories, and gave young athletes important tips about the correct attitude to basketball.
