USUE student has won the contest «Budget for Citizens» of the Sverdlovsk region Ministry of Finance

The Ministry of Finance of the Sverdlovsk region summed up the contest of projects for presenting a budget for citizens.  It involved a variety of projects: from abstracts to animated cartoons.  The works were evaluated by a competitive commission, which included key specialists of the Ministry of Finance and leading consultants representing the business community and the system of higher financial education in the Sverdlovsk region. 

We would like to remind that the acting Governor of the Sverdlovsk region Yevgeny Kuyvashev sets the task of increasing the openness of mechanisms for budget formation, as well as expanding the dialogue with civil society. 

Holding a competition is one of the mechanisms for popularizing the process of forming and executing the regional budget. 

As reported in the Ministry of Finance, 18 applications were admitted to participate in the contest in six categories.  According to the Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk region, the Minister of Finance Galina Kulachenko, all participants presenting their versions of the budget for citizens showed respect for budget rubles as well as for a taxpayer.  In addition, the Minister proposed to invite all participants of the contest to the Ministry of Finance of the Sverdlovsk region on the Financier’s Day, which is celebrated on September 8. 

In the nomination "The Budget of the Municipality in Questions and Answers", the winner was the work of a graduate-2017 of the Institute of Finance and Law USUE Galina Yuzhakova.  The scientific adviser in project preparation for the contest was a senior lecturer at the USUE Department of Public and Municipal Finance Alyona Ankundinova. 

"I took part in the contest for the first time, but I had heard about it before.  Many students from parallel groups already defended their projects and honorably represented our University.  My decision to participate was spontaneous; the work was done in a short time.  The news of the win was a pleasant surprise!" Galina Yuzhakova shared her impressions with us.  Galina plans to continue her studies at the University on master’s degree program majoring in "Management".
