USUE STUDENTS - WINNERS OF THE CONTEST BUDGET FOR CITIZENS - 2017

Thirty-two projects were submitted for the contest "Budget for Citizens", which is held in Yekaterinburg for the second time.

The award ceremony was held at the Yekaterinburg Administration on December 8, 2017.

The main goal of the creative contest is to find the best practices for presenting the budget in a format that provides openness and accessibility for citizens. The project should be an up-to-date study on the subject matter of the competition, contain well-founded conclusions on the problem under study, as well as recommendations for practical use.

Addressing the participants of the contest, Andrey Koryukov, Deputy Head for Strategic Planning, Economics and Finance at the Yekaterinburg Administration, noted, "Already more than 170 countries participate in the openness of a budget system for citizens. In 2011, the decision was taken to create the electronic budget of the Russian Federation and, as part of it, the contest "Budget for Citizens". With these activities, we popularize the budget: what it is, how to understand it, how to use it in everyday life, and most importantly - to involve young people in the formation and spending of the budget. A budget is a document that contains 15 sections on 600 pages and has a conservative normative character. Your great merit is that you were able to explain it. I would like to note that this year the contents of the projects became much more interesting. It was very interesting for me to solve some of the tasks and puzzles in your works. "

The best works were decided by a special contest commission, which, in addition to the heads of the departments of the Yekaterinburg Administration, included officials from the Federal Treasury in the Sverdlovsk region, the municipal bank "Yekaterinburg", the Institute of Economics of the UrB RAS, the Public Chamber of Yekaterinburg, and USUE. During two sessions, the commission members selected winners and runners-up.
