Students will be able to confirm USUE qualification at the University

Ural State University of Economics and the Foundation for the Development of Qualifications and Competencies in the Urals region today signed an agreement on cooperation. The signatures were put by the Rector Yakov Silin and the president of the Foundation, a USUE graduate Alexey Lebedev.

Within the framework of the agreement, students will be able to confirm their qualifications without leaving the University. Such a procedure is carried out in accordance with the Federal Law "About independent assessment of qualification", which allows young professionals to feel confident in the labor market and count on accelerated career growth.

USUE Rector Yakov Silin noted that the system cooperation between the organizations has already been formed and proven in practice, and now is fixed by this agreement.

The president of the Foundation Alexey Lebedev emphasized the fact that it is USUE which one of the first in the country is entering the process of a qualification system building.

The University will organize preparation for an independent assessment of qualifications in the form of seminars and short-term programs. The list of professional retraining programs will be expanded, taking into account the requirements of modern professional standards and the system of independent assessment of qualification.

USUE and the Fund identified the main areas of cooperation:

• organization and conducting of professional public accreditation of educational programs in "Economics and Management";
• assistance in the formation of expertise in the field of professional public accreditation of educational programs and independent assessment of qualifications;
• assistance in the introduction of professional standards in the education system of financial and economic tracks and personnel management;
• organization of joint public and business events;
• development of network forms of interaction on the subject matter of the Agreement;
• preparation of proposals for the development of a system of professional qualifications in the Urals region and at the all-Russian level.

The Foundation organizes independent monitoring of student learning outcomes for partner educational institutions. Such monitoring is necessary to improve the quality of educational programs and the subsequent students’ undergoing the procedures of independent assessment of qualifications. The Foundation facilitates the establishment and development of business contacts and links between partner educational institutions and employers in the financial market, their associations and unions, and other concerned entities.

At Ural State University of Economics, the procedures for the professional public accreditation (PPA) of educational programs were conducted by the Council on Professional Qualifications of the Financial Market in December 2016. The POA does not duplicate state accreditation due to the application of other criteria and procedures.
