Студенты УрГЭУ участвуют во Всемирном фестивале молодежи и студентов в Сочи
From Ural State University of Economics 14 people, and from the Sverdlovsk region – 175 came at the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students (WFYS-2017). This year the festival takes place from October 14 to 22 in the Olympic Park of Sochi.
The start of the WFYS-2017 was given by the International Student Parade on October 14 in Moscow. Participants of the festival will discuss programs, panel discussions, lectures, conferences, and master classes.
The grand opening of the festival was held on October 15. We would like to remind that on that day in Yeltsin Center there was a live transmission from Sochi. Nearly 200 young people from 70 countries came to Yekaterinburg under the regional program of the festival.
director of the Department for Youth Policy of the University Yana Sikorskaya took part in the festival race with "MATCH TV", which was held on October 16. In total, more than 3400 people ran the distance of 2017 meters and the race was opened by the general producer of "Match TV" Tina Kandelaki, the president of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov, and the Soviet and Russian swimmer Alexander Popov.
On October 17, the speakers at the panel discussion "Freedom of Choice" with the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova were Vladimir Kuznetsov, Director of the UN Information Center in Moscow, Maria Zakharova, Director of Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Andrei Baykov, Vice-Rector for the Master's and International Programs of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, and Dalbir Singh, head of the department in the All-India Congress.
In addition, the guests and participants of the festival can visit exhibitions "Regions of the World" and "History and Culture of Russia", where they will become acquainted with the traditions and customs of their countries, learn about significant projects and achievements.
The 19th World Festival of Youth and Students is a unique platform where young people jointly develop the image of future of the whole Earth. The most active and energetic representatives of 180 countries gathered there who are building their future in their homeland in different fields and are ready within a week to form the main trends of the planet's development until 2030.
The organizers of the festival are the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY), which has a consultative status with UNESCO, and the National Preparatory Committee of the host country.
