Students of all countries, unite!

At Ural State University of Economics, the Day of Russian Students went off with a bang. On their day, USUE students once more passed an examination session just for fun, visited the Yekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts and learned how training at foreign universities was arranged.

In honor of the Day of Russian Students, the USUE students’ Trade Union Committee organized a “mini-session”. About 100 students took part in it. It was a joky test of knowledge: for example, participants were asked to read a poem or try to smuggle crib notes into the auditorium.

Many students got “excellent” (A) in all “disciplines”. “Some students got C, but they were few. The guys quickly found their bearings and, if necessary, improvised and showed the features of proper students,” Nargis Rozikova, chair of the culture-in-mass commission of the USUE students’ Trade Union Committee, said.

At the end of such a ten-minute session, USUE students were awarded Proper Student Diplomas and a prize for passed exams - a discount coupon for game clubs, creative studios and cafes in Yekaterinburg.

14 international USUE students also celebrated the Day of Russian Students. They took part in master classes and games prepared by USUE teachers. For example, students of the USUE Preparatory Faculty played Crocodile, gesturing either a window, or a bag, or the sea, competed who would name more Russian words starting, for example, with letter “c” (they remembered “спорт“, and “собака“, and, of course, “студент“).

Besides, USUE international students visited the Yekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts. The museum’s collection has been collected since 1936: these are paintings, icons, and jewelry.

In addition, students of USUE Shaligram Mahto from India, Ahmed Salama from Egypt, Leonel and Kamis from Cameroon spoke about the peculiarities of education in their countries. For example, in Cameroonian schools, colleges, technical schools and universities, cell phones, tattoos, piercings (including earrings in the ears) and unusual hairstyles are strictly prohibited. As for India, children go to school there for 12 years. During this time, the state fully supplies them with school things: parents do not need to buy textbooks, notebooks, and school uniforms for their children every year. And the government pays for food in the same way as in Russia.

In total, 16 thousand people from 68 countries study at Ural State University of Economics.
