«Universitetsky» can provide a platform for self-realization of students and teachers
July 12, at the International Trade Fair "Innoprom", taking place in Yekaterinburg-Expo center, Ural State University of Economics signed an agreement on cooperation with the Sverdlovsk region "Universitetsky" technopark of high technologies. General Director of the technopark Denis Skomorokhov and USUE Rector Yakov Silin agreed to cooperate in the development of the innovation ecosystem in the region.
USUE together with the technopark will develop and implement educational programs in the field of innovative activity and technology-intensive entrepreneurship, as well as hold joint events at international, federal and regional levels.
According to the technopark’s CEO Denis Skomorokhov, universities are one of the key centers for innovative start-ups. "We are ready to pick up these projects in order to promote their implementation at large enterprises of the region. The technopark has both programs for new start-ups and proposals for already operating ones, which need an opportunity for expansion. The list of services is always individual and is determined by the needs of a resident,” Denis Skomorokhov said.
He added that the formats for interaction with USUE could be very different: educational programs for start-ups, assistance in the production of a real operating model, fund raising, and other types of services that are necessary for a start-up.
"Involving universities in the existing Technopark is a logical move. "Universitetsky" can provide a platform for self-realization of students and teachers, because no university would be able to create such one for themselves," the USUE Rector Yakov Silin said.
The university will attract entrepreneurs, leading business trainers, mentors, and experts to create conditions for scientific and project activities of students and postgraduates. Together, promising ideas will be developed in various sectors of the economy for their further introduction into industrial and other production, as well as promotion of the most promising of them.
The project of the Sverdlovsk region technopark of high technologies is implemented in accordance with the federal program of the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, supported by the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region. The technopark is the largest innovation center in the region with an equipped territory and extended innovative infrastructure, where activities are carried out to develop small and medium-sized enterprises, training programs and consultations for start-ups are being implemented, and conditions are being created to improve the competitiveness and investment attractiveness of the region.
