Ural State University of Economics is among five top universities in the Ural Federal District and takes 2nd place in the Sverdlovsk region after Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin.
These are exactly the positions of USUE in the national ranking of universities according to the International information service Interfax, which presented on its portal the 10th Annual National Ranking of Universities for 2018–2019 academic year.
In 2019, USUE takes 183 place in the National Ranking of Russian universities, which is 12 positions higher than the results of 2018. It also improved its positions in three categories: internationalization (climbing from 143 to 110-113 position), research (from 257 to 233-238 position), and brand (from 114-118 to 103-106 position).
In 2019, the National University Ranking expanded the list of participants: it evaluated 327 leading universities in Russia, which is 39 more than last year.
An assessment was also carried out according to the types of universities: the list covers 96 classical universities, 100 technical and technological universities (these also include transport, architectural and civil engineering universities), 19 economic and social universities, 24 agricultural universities, 20 medical universities, 26 pedagogical universities, and 5 law universities.
The activities of universities were evaluated by six parameters: brand, learning activities, research, social environment, internationalization (international cooperation), innovation, and technopreneurship.
