From 18 to 20 October, a delegation of the Ural State University of Economics consisting of the Vice-Rector for Social Work Roman Krasnov and the head of the International Cooperation Office Margarita Medvedeva is visiting Harbin.
USUE management visited Daqing Senior High School. More than 2,000 students study there and there are more than 500 teachers. This school is known for its modern teaching methods and the latest technologies not only in Daqing, but also throughout the Heilongjiang Province.
The USUE delegation was met by the director of the School Mr.Liu. He noted that more and more leavers of Chinese schools continue their education at Russian universities. Roman Krasnov presented USUE educational programs and drew attention to the fact that the university has an experience of teaching the Russian language and major economic disciplines for Chinese students.
Then our delegation visited some training sessions and the campus. The meeting resulted in agreement on sending talented graduates of Daqing School for training at USUE.
We would like to note that the University of Economics for three years has been cooperating with the Harbin University of Commerce (HUC). In 2016-2017 academic year, five HUC students and one teacher undertook internships and training at the USUE Faculty of Pre-university Training. In turn, USUE students were sent to the Chinese university.
USUE delegation also met with the leadership of Harbin University of Commerce. Roman Krasnov and Margarita Medvedeva were met by the party secretary Mr. Sun Xianmin and head of International Relations Department Mr. Zeng Tao.
Participants of the meeting noted that the structures of universities are very similar: training is held in such areas as economics, finance, management, tourism, and food technologies. Roman Krasnov emphasized that the development of cooperation with Chinese universities is an important part of Russia's foreign policy. Promising areas of cooperation are the teaching of Russian and Chinese languages, exchange of teachers and students, and development of scientific research in the field of food technologies.
The universities of China and Russia focus on quality and modern education. Mr. Xianmin confirmed intentions to expand areas of cooperation and to increase the number of exchange programs. "Relations between countries begin with the cooperation of young people, and our mutual task is to educate such students who are ready to develop them in the future," he said.
