USUE became a platform for discussion of corporate governance

Representatives of science and business of Warsaw (Poland), Moscow, Karpinsk, Yekaterinburg, and Chelyabinsk gathered at USUE to discuss new trends in corporate governance and business development. The international scientific and practical conference was held as part of the Economist’s Week.

The chair of USUE Department of Corporate Economics and Business Management, Professor Irina Tkachenko introduced the guests, and the USUE Vice-Rector for research Elena Dvoryadkina noted that the conference had become traditional, «We have a platform where we can discuss problems, trends of corporate governance and economy development. This topic would never be exhausted because under all conditions the corporate management systems are one of the factors of business success.»

The reputational capital as a factor in increasing the competitiveness of a company, the corporate secretary status in Russian companies, systematizing of agent’s approaches to the integrity of the industrial enterprises in the framework of corporate governance — these and other aspects were key ones in the discussion.

Professor at the Higher School of Economics (Warsaw, Poland), Maria Alyukhna spoke about corporate governance in Poland and presented the studies on the dynamics of the board of directors’ characteristics from 2006 to 2015.

Professor Bela Bataeva, Department of Corporate Finance and Corporate Governance at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation (Moscow), in her report «Compliance in Fraud Risk Management System in Russian Companies» focused on the concept, types, and signs of corporate fraud.

The manager of the dual system of education at Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant, a senior lecturer at the USUE Department of Corporate Economics and Business Management Anna Polyakova spoke about the implementation of dual education of socially responsible business by a case study of the educational program «Future of white metallurgy» for ChelPipe group.

Besides, the experts discussed environmental aspects of the social responsibility of business in the Middle Urals, the systematization of agent’s approaches to the integrity of the industrial enterprises in the framework of corporate governance, as well as training entrepreneurs for a family business running.
