USUE participates in the regional program of 19th World Festival of Youth and Students

October 15, Yeltsin Center hosted the opening ceremony of the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students. Almost 200 young people from 70 countries of the world arrived in Yekaterinburg within the framework of the regional program of the festival.

According to a specialist of the Department for Youth Policy USUE Ivan Golubykh, the ceremony was arranged in the national style. «The best creative teams from Yekaterinburg and Sverdlovsk Oblast gave a concert. After the official part of the opening, a disco was organized for all guests of the ceremony, residents of the city and foreign visitors,» Ivan said.

Besides, there was a live transmission of the opening ceremony in Sochi.

According to the Information Policy Department of the Governor of Sverdlovsk Oblast, 15 regions will welcome foreign delegations within the regional program of the festival: apart from Sverdlovsk Oblast, these are Kaliningrad, Krasnoyarsk, Veliky Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Orenburg, Vladivostok, Makhachkala, Sevastopol, Kazan, Rostov-on-Don, St. Petersburg, Tyumen, Izhevsk, and Yaroslavl. The regional program of the festival will last from 14 to 17 October.

«Almost 200 guests are young people from different countries who will live, play, and compete in the same way in Yekaterinburg and Sochi throughout the festival. Therefore, the first day we held events aimed at the acquaintance and teambuilding. All of today and the next game, educational, business and entertainment meetings will be held in the English language — the official language of the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students,» said the director of the Department of Youth Policy of the Sverdlovsk region Olga Glatskikh.

As a reminder, now in Sochi, there is the Sverdlovsk region delegation of 175 persons. In total, more than 20,000 young people from 150 countries of the world aged from 18 to 35 became participants of the festival. Young leaders from different spheres gathered at one site: representatives of youth public organizations, young journalists, creative and sporting youth, young engineers and IT specialists, leaders of youth organizations, political parties, young entrepreneurs, leaders of student self-governance, young scientists and university professors, as well as compatriots and foreigners who study the Russian language and are interested in Russian culture.
