USUE builds relations with the Czech Republic

November 23, a Czech delegation headed by hetman of South Bohemia Ivana Stráská visited USUE. The USUE Rector Yakov Silin discussed with the guests of the University the possibilities of cooperation.

The Czech delegation included First Deputy Hetman of the South Bohemia for Regional Development and Investment Josef?  Knot, Deputy Hetman of the South Bohemia for Finance Jaromir Novák, Deputy Hetman of the South Bohemia for agriculture and culture Pavel Hroch, Deputy Hetman of the South Bohemia for Education and Social Affairs Zden?k Dvo?ák, Advisor to the President on Foreign Affairs Jan Kohout, Vice-Rector for International Relations of the University of South Bohemia Radka Závodská, head of the International Relations Department at the Institute of Technology and Business of South Bohemia Kate?ina Róv?, adviser to the Hetman of South Bohemia Ji?í Zimola, and others.

At the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of education and international exchange of students and teachers.

Ivana Stráská is the first woman - Hetman of South Bohemia of the Czech Republic. She takes the post since 2017.

South Bohemia is the administrative unit of the Czech Republic, located in the south of the historical region of Bohemia. Its administrative center and the largest city in the region is ?eské Bud?jovice.

South Bohemia is a traditional agricultural area. The main crop products are cereals, oilseeds, and fodder crops, with the main role being played by the production of potatoes. The major branches of industry are woodworking, paper, printing, and textile industries. An increasingly important role in the economy of the province belongs to machine building, as well as to automotive and food industries.

The University of South Bohemia is a state university located in the south of the Czech Republic in ?eské Bud?jovice. The university cooperates with more than 300 institutions of higher education all over the world. It supports scientific research activities and promotes international exchange of experience and knowledge. The international prestige of the university is confirmed by active research groups located in various parts of the world, for example, in the Arctic and Papua New Guinea. Throughout its existence, the university has become the main research center of South Bohemia.
