AN ACCOUNTANT IN THE MORNING, A SOLDERER AT NIGHT

Svetlana Belyaeva, head of the operating sector of the USUE Accounting Department, organized producing drop systems for unmanned aerial vehicles. Since the beginning of the special military operation, the caring woman has been helping fighters on the front-line bring victory closer.

Svetlana Belyaeva began providing support to Russian soldiers from March 2022. At first, she regularly collected and sent humanitarian aid via volunteers. After 6 months of hostilities, she learned from the military that, at the front, there was a need for drop systems for unmanned aerial vehicles. An accountant by training, Svetlana was not at a loss: in a short time, she learned how to solder parts, gathered like-minded people, and for 1.5 years now, caring Yekaterinburg residents have been making drop systems for UAVs, fins and caps for ammunition, keys for disassembling ammunition, phone holders for combat harness, and stands for copters. They utilize 3D printers to manufacture all these items. The initiative of a USUE employee has grown into a real volunteer detachment with the self-explanatory name “Heavenly Front”. Drone accessories are manufactured and delivered to the front free of charge.

“In the general chat, where I post all requests received from combat units, there are now 142 persons. We raise money ourselves, buy plastic and other components, and start creating items. It needs to be done quickly, so you have to sit with a soldering iron at night,” Svetlana Belyaeva said.

Through joint efforts, they established almost non-stop production to send components to the front on a weekly basis. Everyone contributes: some help with money, others solder parts, and still others print on 3D printers. However, as Svetlana admits, the equipment is not designed for such volumes and periodically breaks down.

“The components are needed by the soldiers on the front-line. A drop system with ammunition is attached to the body of a copter, and at the operator’s command, the target is hit. We also supply components to the training center in Yelan so that fighters learn to control drones,” a USUE employee told us.

For help to the troops of the Central Military District, Svetlana Belyaeva was today awarded a Certificate of Honor by the National Public Organization of RF Armed Forces Veterans. The award was presented by USUE rector Yakov Silin. According to Svetlana, she regularly receives positive feedback from Special Military Operation fighters.

“Our drops, according to the fighters’ reviews, are the best. And we are happy to help; we are doing this answering the call of the heart!” Svetlana Belyaeva concludes.

Today, the volunteer detachment Heavenly Front is creating a product catalog so that potential sponsors and everyone who wants to join could clearly see what valuable things for the front are produced by caring Yekaterinburg residents.
