USUE discussed the creation of an accessible environment for people with disabilities

Today, Ural State University of Economics hosted the conference "Yekaterinburg. Work without Borders" which gathered more than 150 representatives of employers. The participants discussed issues related to creating an accessible environment and employment opportunities for disabled people.

The Presidium of the conference included Yakov Silin, USUE rector, Vladimir Podgornov, director of the Yekaterinburg Employment Center, Maxim Tsyganov, senior assistant to the Prosecutor of Yekaterinburg, junior counselor of justice, Oksana Samkova a specialist of the expert medical diagnostics division of the Main Bureau of Medical and Social Expertise in Sverdlovsk region, Elena Ovsyannikova, head of the USUE Office  for Interaction with Employers, and Maria Davyduk, deputy head of the department for interaction with employers at the Yekaterinburg Employment Center.

Yakov Silin welcomed the participants of the conference, "For many years, a job-oriented department of labor economics has been running at USUE. If we join the efforts of the Employment Service and the University, we will obtain good results. Many problems would be solved better thanks to the work of professionals. I am glad that this event, which has already become traditional, is taking place at Ural State University of Economics and lad to see all of you."

At the conference, an agreement on cooperation between USUE and Yekaterinburg Employment Center was signed concerning vocational guidance and promotion of employment of students and graduates, including those with disabilities. The agreement was signed by Yakov Silin and Vladimir Podgorny.

After the signing, the participants of the conference listened to reports on the specifics of creating an accessible environment for disabled people, on the latest changes in legislation and the correct interpretation of these changes, as well as on the results of law enforcement practice on employment issues in 2017.
