"Every person in his life faces food culture. You are participants in this process, which gives pleasure not only to you but also to those who evaluate your work. I would like to wish everyone a fair contest," Dmitry Degtyarev said.

Victor Belyaev noted that the qualifying stage in Yekaterinburg completes a series of regional rounds in 2017, "The chefs of Yekaterinburg were the winners of the first Chef a la Russe. You should not surrender your positions, Uralians should not give way to other cities. I wish the participants of the qualifying Championship good luck as we have two difficult days ahead."

Yakov Silin expressed the hope that the University would become a permanent venue for various festivals, forums, and championships.

The qualifying round in Yekaterinburg is supported by the Government of the Sverdlovsk region, the Association of Chefs and Restaurateurs of the Sverdlovsk region, the Russian National Culinary Association, and the World Association of Chefs - WorldChefs / WACS.

All teams within 70 minutes should cook dishes of a certain set of products, which they receive in the "secret box" before the start. In addition to the proper professional cooking and taste of dishes, the judges will assess the workplace organization, hygiene, and rational use of products. Besides, the participants should properly decorate and present their dishes.

This year, among the judges, there is Iztok Legat, President of the Chefs Association of Slovenia (2004-2008) and a WorldChefs judge. We would like to note that the best teams will become participants of the final of the Championship in Moscow to be held on March 21-23, 2018.

Chef a la Russe is the All-Russia Open Culinary Championship among the chefs held from 2014 onwards. The championship is organized by METRO Cash & Carry and the Russian National Culinary Association under the aegis of WACS.
