Yakov Silin – a special guest of the Tashkent State University of Economics

In honor of the 90th anniversary of the Uzbek economic university, a research-to-practice conference was held, where representatives of four partner universities met: TSUE, USUE, M. Ryskulbekov Kyrgyz Economic University, and the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Kazakhstan). The rector of TSUE, Kongratbay Sharipov, talked with his Ural colleague, Yakov Silin, the USUE rector: Yekaterinburg and Tashkent universities are long-standing partners cooperating, among others, within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Youth Forum. 

The research-to-practice conference "The 90th Anniversary of the University: History, Present, and Future" is held at TSUE from November 24 to 28. One of the main events of the second day of the conference was the meeting of the rectors of Uzbek, Russian, Kyrgyz, and Kazakh universities, as well as acquaintance with the students of the joint educational program of USUE and TSUE.

Besides, on the second day of the event, the School of Chess Art, named after A. Karpov (the famous Ural chess player and politician), was opened at TSEU. It was Anatoly Karpov who once suggested creating and then headed the Department of Chess at USUE. Yakov Silin willingly supported the idea, and the Department of Chess Art and Computer Mathematics, which trains specialists with the right to teach chess at school, appeared at Ural State University of Economics in 2019.
