Yulia Belozerova, coordinator of the project of a nationwide system of training and professional development of tourism industry specialists under the Federal Agency for Tourism, held a presentation of priority projects of the Federal Agency for Tourism - "Tourism as a driver of region development."
The presentation for students of the Institute of Trade, Food Technologies and Service was held within the framework of the Congress of Service Technologies at IX Eurasian Economic Youth Forum.
"We need to look broader at today's tourism. There are many places worth seeing in Russia. One should explore its own homeland. Your impressions are the wealth that no one would take away from you. This wealth is accumulated during life and gives an incentive to longevity," Yulia Belozerova said.
The main task of the Federal Agency for Tourism, according to Yulia, is to create conditions for the development of tourism in Russia and to improve the quality of tourism services. "Tourism services mean not only physical facilities. First of all, these are people. Accordingly, the key resource of tourism is people: if they were rude to you at the entrance to the best apartments, then you would need nothing – neither hotel, nor furniture," the expert said.
According to the project coordinator, much attention is paid to the staff development. One of the largest projects is a nationwide system for training specialists in tourism industry. Yuulia Belozerova spoke about the regional specifics of professional development, "In each region, you need to do something your own. In order to conduct such regional adaptation and organize face-to-face courses, we have a whole network of more than 60 regional educational sites. In addition, we constantly carry out work with regional sites through industry-specialized conferences."
