The protection of constitutional rights was discussed in Yekaterinburg

October 2-7, 2017, there was held the third International Urals Forum of Constitutionalists. The main organizers of the event were the Ural State Law University, Association of Lawyers of Russia, and Interregional Association of Constitutionalists of Russia.

The forum’s events were held at various discussion grounds, including the Legislative Assembly of the Sverdlovsk Region and the Statutory Court of the Sverdlovsk Region.

Teachers of the USUE Department of Public Law took part in the Forum of Constitutionalists. Participants discussed hot issues of constitutional and municipal law. Of particular interest and discussion was the report of the chair of the Department of Public Law Alexei Romanov on the constitutional principles of local self-government in Russia. Besides, presentations were made by Associate Professors at the Department of Public Law Alexander Savoskin, Aleskandra Morozova and assistant lecturer of the Department Maria Vilacheva.

Alexei Romanov said in his report, «Local self-government allows citizens to have, use, and dispose of municipal property, to solve social and other problems based on local needs. The development of local self-government creates prerequisites for the unification of society, man, and the state, strengthening the ties of the Russian Federation with its constituent territories, and serves as a form of addressing national and cultural issues. »

As part of the forum, there was a conference of young scientists «Realization and Protection of Human Constitutional Rights.» The moderator of the event was the associate professor at the Department of Public Law Alexander Savoskin.

USUE students were engaged in in the discussion of topical issues of constitutional, municipal law. Nikita Ershov, a student of HMS-16 group, spoke at the conference on the role of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation in the legal regulation of an organization and activities of public authorities (scientific supervisor: A.S. Morozova, Associate Professor at the Department of Public Law). His report was recognized as one of the best and honored with a certificate.
