SUCH HUGE EVENTS HAVE NEVER HAPPENED IN THE REGION: THE INITIATORS OF THE “STRONGHOLD” QUIZ TALKED ABOUT ITS CARRYING OUT
After the ceremony for selecting the winners of valuable gifts of the “Stronghold” quiz, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Sverdlovsk region, Oblastnaya Gazeta spoke with the initiators of the quiz and people involved in organizing the ceremony at the Cosmos cinema. They shared their opinions on how the quiz went and whether it became a festive occasion for residents of the Sverdlovsk region.
Yakov Silin, Chairman of the Board of Guardians of the Sverdlovsk Regional Charitable Foundation, USUE rector:
“There have never been such events in the region. To hold the “Stronghold” quiz in the year of the ninetieth anniversary of the Sverdlovsk region is a reason to once again turn to the history of our region, to show its role and value for all of Russia. Our region is unique! Our task was not just to congratulate the residents on the anniversary of their region, but also to educate the maximum number of fellow countrymen, to remind them of what a wonderful place we live in.
That is why the quiz was educational. As they say, gifts are not as dear as the attention given to you by a giver. Here, it is attention to our region, to our ancestors, their successes and achievements. But, of course, gifts for Sverdlovsk residents are also very serious: the level of gifts and their number speak about the global nature of the event.
