Director of the USUE Institute of Finance and Law Maxim Maramygin on Black Friday

Maxim Maramygin told what Black Friday is, what cunning tricks marketers resort to attract customers and what tools the stores use to make consumers buy their products.

"Psychologically, people respond well to discounts and to phrases like "Only Today", "Do Buy "," Only for you," and so on. At such moments, the decision must be taken immediately: a consumer does not have time to analyze the price range in different outlets, so he believes that the cost of the product is actually lowered. While it is possible that in a nearby store the same product costs cheaper even without any discount,"  Maxim Maramygin said.

According to the expert, the range of gimmicks is quite large. Stores can specifically inflate prices by the time a sale is made or hold promotions to sell goods at the same price, indicating that it is already at a discount. "All is done in expectation to catch a person flatfooted and to convince him to buy it now," the director of the USUE Institute of Finance and Law said.

Black Friday came to us from the US; there the sale is timed to the Thanksgiving Day. After this holiday, the traditional Christmas season of sales begins.
