A regional forum "Ural - Territory of Quality. Food” was held in Kamensk-Uralsky. Its initiator was the Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry; the idea was supported by the regional Ministry of Agro-Industrial Complex, city administration, and USUE. The competition of dairy and bakery products of Sverdlovsk region producers attracted a lot of attention.
A wide range of products manufactured by enterprises were presented at the exhibition. The quality of the submitted samples was evaluated by the commission individually, according to a scoring system.
“The administration of Kamensk-Uralsky is one of the few who decided on such a forum. And it is right. Today, both trade and producers are in the position when there are a lot of goods, but few buyers. The incomes are not high. They need to negotiate. There is no other mechanism. The place for negotiations should be the municipality where interests of producers, retailers, and residents should go together. Can small and medium-sized businesses enter large networks? Yes, they can. But this is a subject matter of agreement. There are no managerial decisions. It is difficult to make a consumer buy this or that product. Producers should understand that before starting to produce, one should study the market and the demand of residents, and through which channels the products will be sold," Vera Solovyova, director of the USUE Institute of Trade, Food Technologies and Services, said.
