Ural State University of Economics is the university, which trains the economic elite of the Ural region, Russia and CIS countries. USUE is a multidisciplinary university, with over 15,500 students. University has trained more than 165,000 professionals in different sectors of economics including representatives of business elite and governmental bodies.

One of the key areas for the University is scientific activities. Annually, USUE hosts more than 20 international and national academic conferences.
Research is carried out in the framework of more than 120 R & D, grants, and projects within Federal Targeted Programs.
In 2018, USUE funding from external grants was 9.7 million rubles, in the first half of 2019 – it exceeded 13 million rubles.
USUE publishes four scientific journals, three of which are included in the list of leading scientific journals by Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. "Upravlenets/The Manager" magazine and its archive since 2015 got into the ESCI Web of Science database.
Today, by the majority of publication activity indicators, USUE is included in the top 3 universities across the Sverdlovsk region, and by the key indicators it ranks second.
University was included into prestigious QS BRICS ranking, while only 90 Russian Universities got into this ranking, USUE reached 72-82 position.
In 2019, according to AС«Expert» scientifict productivity ranking by subject our University has reached 13th place and continues to strengthen its position within 10 international and Russian rankings.

USUE is one of the most active universities of the Urals in the development of international relations.
During its existence, the University signed 130 agreements on international cooperation in 60 countries of the world (Ecuador, Mexico, Uruguay, Guatemala, Paraguay, Benin, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Nigeria, Congo, Egypt, Iraq, and others), including agreements on development of double degree program in four areas of bachelor's degree and two areas of master's degree courses at six universities.
Ural State University of Economics is the only university in the Urals which ranking in German listing for educational institutions 2007 was the highest (H+) that means public recognition of USUE diplomas in Europe.
Currently the University established stable contacts with the US Embassy in Russia, the US Consulate General in Yekaterinburg, the German Academic Exchange Service and representative offices of other organizations. There have been signed inter-university agreements with educational institutions of 56 countries, including the universities of Kazakhstan, Germany, Great Britain, China, and South Korea.
Twenty-three professors from Great Britain, France, Germany, USA, Czech Republic, China, Ecuador, Benin, Equatorial Guinea, and other countries were awarded the title of USUE Honorary Professor.

The University has the Faculty of Pre-university Training that offers courses of the Russian language for foreign students and implements programs of students' adaptation. More than 200 foreign students, master’s degree, postgraduates and doctoral students are studying at USUE.
The University initiated and actively develops a number of youth movements and projects aimed at developing intercultural dialogue, strengthening mutual understanding and friendship among peoples, and popularizing professional skills:
International youth movement "Eurasian Economic Youth Forum" (EEYF) is a Eurasian in mind but geographically a global initiative association of intellectual youth from different countries under the auspices of the Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs of the Russian Federation (Rosmolodezh), Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo), and the Sverdlovsk region government.
WorldSkills International (WSI) is an international non-profit association whose goal is to improve the status and standards of vocational training and qualifications around the world. WSI exists since 1946; its creators set ambitious goals: to motivate young people to compete in order to awaken their enthusiasm for vocational training, and to compare the skills and abilities of people from different countries. Since then, the main activity of WSI is the organization of the WorldSkills professional excellence competitions in different member countries every two years.
In 2012, in Yekaterinburg, with the support of the Department for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, a branch of the Association of International Students in Russia (AIS) was established based on the Big Eurasian University Complex with the goal of uniting foreign students studying at universities of Yekaterinburg. The purpose of this organization is to deepen mutual understanding between foreign students and public organizations and universities' administrations, and strengthening mutual understanding and friendship among peoples.
