This year, one of the most significant events in the life of USUE is the IX Eurasian Economic Youth Forum. By tradition, the concepts and logo for this large-scale international event are being developed.

Now, foreign students who had studied the Russian language for a year and entered a university will be able to extend their study visas without leaving the country. Eight projects of fundamental research in the field of humanities and social sciences, the University sent to the contest, were selected by the expert council and received financial support from the Russian Foundation for Basic Research. The annual grant amount for the implementation of each project was 700 thousand rubles. Most of the programs are designed for two years.

The Federal Treasury Department for the Sverdlovsk region and Ural State University of Economics have been cooperating since 2013. The parties organize on-job and pre-graduation practical training, often with subsequent employment in the bodies of the Federal Treasury.

January 9, the Rector of Ural State University of Economics Yakov Silin awarded the diploma to the student brigade of train hosts "Hellas". In 2017, the regional meeting of student brigades declared "Hellas" the best student brigade of train hosts in the Sverdlovsk region.
