USUE Rector Yakov Silin took part in the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Chess Federation of the Sverdlovsk Region. The meeting was held at "SIMA-land", as the head of the company, Andrey Simanovsky has been elected as the new president of the Regional Federation.

Students and faculty members of Ural State University of Economics took part in All-Russian Festival of Social Videos "I am Against Extremism". The festival is held by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation together with the National Center for Information Counteraction to Terrorism and Extremism in Educational Environment. A group of young, active people starred in social advertising, where they shared their opinions on terrorists recruiting to join the IS organization outlawed in Russia. In such a way, USUE stated that it is concerned about the problem of extremism and terrorism.

July 17, Ural State University of Economics hosted the scientific and practical conference dedicated to the preparation for the 100th anniversary of the execution of the royal family "Urals in the Fate of the Romanovs".
