February 22, at MEGA, an awards ceremony of Fairytale World Map international competition took place as a part of the Globe of the Ural Taste gastronomic festival. 256 representatives from 7 countries of the world took part in the competition. The competition was initiated by the USUE Department of Tourism Business and Hospitality and the Park of Fairy Tales in the town of Aramil with the support of the Ural Union of Travel Industry. 

Ural State University of Economics is an annual and active participant in the competitions of the Youth Union of Economists and Financiers of Russia (MSEF). MSEF is a non-profit youth national public organization that works under the patronage of the Government of the Russian Federation and is aimed at promoting the formation of a new generation of Russian economists and financiers, meeting the requirements and demands of the time, as well as the development of a powerful economic and financial system in Russia. In 2019-2020, MSEF held 24 Olympiads and competitions.

February 8, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation issued an order permitting, from 13.03.2021, to establish at Ural State University of Economics a council for the defense of theses for a degree of candidate of sciences (Ph.D.) and doctor of sciences.

Among the participants of the Russian student draughts competitions held in Chelyabinsk on February 4 -7, 2021, were USUE students: Master of Sports Matvey Nedbailo (group M-18-1) and Grandmaster Damir Rysaev (group IVT-19-3). Our students were successful: Damir became the winner of the competition and Matvey took fifth place.

The third International Moscow Academic Economic Forum will take place on May 26-27, 2021. The theme of MAEF-2021 is "Global Transformation of Modern Society and the Goals of Russia National Development."
