January 19, Dmitry Karkh, USUE Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Teaching Methods and Quality of Training, answered on-line questions about the organization of the educational process.      

The textbook The Budgetary System of the Russian Federation prepared by a team of authors from the USUE Department of Finance, Monetary Circulation, and Credit, edited by Natalya Aleksandrovna Istomina, Doctor of Economics, associate professor, and Yulia Sergeevna Dolganova, Ph.D. in Economics, associate professor, has entered the top 50 regional publications according to the results of the competition "Best Books of the Year - 2019": TOP 50 BEST BOOKS OF REGIONAL PUBLISHERS held by the Association of Book Publishers of Russia in 2020.

Ural State University of Economics continues active preparation for the XI Eurasian Economic Youth Forum "Russia and Regions of the World: the Embodiment of Ideas and Economy of Opportunities." USUE Vice-rector for social work Roman Krasnov held a coordination meeting with representatives of USUE structural divisions and institutes on the organization of the main youth economic event in the Ural region. 

Ural State University of Economics hosted an international online conference dedicated to the economic consequences of the coronavirus pandemic for enterprises in Russia and Uzbekistan. The conference was organized jointly with the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

January 14, the first in 2021 press conference of USUE rector Yakov Silin took place.  The press conference was attended by journalists from TV companies of Asbest, Kamensk-Uralsky, and Polevsky, as well as journalists of the Economist magazine of Ural State University of Economics.

USUE began the calendar year 2021 with an Open Day, where it presented all levels of education at the University, including secondary professional education at the USUE College and recently launched specialist’s degree programs in Forensic Science with Economic Analysis specialty.

The COVID-19 pandemic has made changes in the organization of the educational process at the USUE institutes and College. Measures to ensure sanitary and epidemiological well-being in connection with the spread of new coronavirus infection in student groups are taken following the directives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the methodological recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor. 

On 16 December 2020 Quacquarelli Symonds (Great Britain) published QS Emerging Europe And Central Asia University Rankings 2021. In this rating USUE ranks 301-350 while securing its place among the TOP-100 Russian universities

December 26, Ural State University of Economics hosted a solemn graduation ceremony of the Institute of Masters Courses 2020 (an intra-extramural form of study) in the areas of Economics, Finance and Credit, State and Municipal Administration, and Management. 

December 24, Ural State University of Economics held a meeting of the Academic Council, which reviewed the results of the educational process organization and methodological activities of the University for 2020. The speakers at the meeting were Dmitry Karkh, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Teaching Methods and Quality of Training, Elena Dvoryadkina, Vice-Rector for Research, and Vladimir Kuligin, Vice-Rector for Property Management.

The Ministry of Education and Youth Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region, together with Ural State University of Economics, held the first regional conference, "Formation of Healthy Eating Culture in Educational Organizations of the Sverdlovsk Region."

Cultural Education public organization of the Sverdlovsk region made a documentary film "Bazhov. Augmented Reality" about the famous Ural fairy-tale writer. It was filmed in Yekaterinburg, Sysert, Berezovsky, and on Mount Azov in the vicinity of Polevskoy. The authors of the film tried to compare and supplement the oeuvre of Pavel Bazhov with the realities, most likely he based on when creating his imperishable works.

From 17 to 20 December 2020, Yekaterinburg Rodina Sports Complex hosted sambo competition and championship of the Ural Federal District (URFO) among men and women.

Today, December 18, Yekaterinburg hosts a series of meetings with the author of the book Prison Diary, a member of the expert council under the Ombudsman for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation Maria Butina, dedicated to the presentation of her book. The meetings are being organized by Ural State University of Economics. The author of the book together with the USUE rector told the story of Maria’s arrest and imprisonment in the United States, as well as why students and other people who faced lawlessness or got into trouble abroad need to know about it.

USUE is preparing for the 11th Eurasian Economic Youth Forum "Russia and Regions of the World: The Embodiment of Ideas and Economy of Opportunities," which will be held on April 20-23, 2021. The organizers are actively interacting with partners for upcoming contests of research projects for participants from all over the world.

December 15, Ural State University of Economics (USUE) hosted a roundtable "A foreign patient: problems and prospects for medical services exporting in the post-pandemic period." The roundtable was held under the project "Development of medical services export in the context of COVID-19 pandemic." The organizer of the roundtable was the USUE Institute of Continuing Education.

April 20-23, 2021, USUE will host XI Eurasian Economic Youth Forum "Russia and regions of the world: the embodiment of ideas and economy of opportunities." The organizers of the forum continue to work on building a constructive dialogue of the expert community on the development of science diplomacy and discussing hot issues of international cooperation. 

The rectors of Ural State University of Economics and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed an agreement on cooperation between the universities in the field of education and research. The signing ceremony took place online through the Zoom platform.

In December, when visiting the USUE territorial Access Center in the Crimea, the USUE Rector visited Simferopol gymnasium №1 named after I.V. Kurchatov. Together with the Vice-Rector for Social Work, Roman Krasnov, and the director of the Sverdlovsk region Chess Federation, Albert Stepanyan, Yakov Silin met with the director of the gymnasium Irina Grebennikova.

On December 7, International Civil Aviation Day, students of Ural State University of Economics met with the Hero of the Russian Federation, the captain of the Airbus A321 aircraft, a Ural Airlines passenger plane, Damir Yusupov, who made a successful emergency landing near Zhukovsky on August 15, 2019.

Uzbek professional boxer and Olympic champion in boxing - 2016 in Rio de Janeiro Fazliddin Gaibnazarov held training sessions for members of the University boxing team in the Eurasia fitness club of the USUE sports complex.

Sergei Burlakov, a Russian Paralympian, a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, a record holder of the Guinness Book of Records, and "Man of the Planet" spoke to students of Ural State University of Economics about how love helped to reach any heights, about lenity and the reason of existence of men and women, and about many other things.

An award ceremony dedicated to the 255th anniversary of the Free Economic Society of Russia (VEO of Russia) took place at Ural State University of Economics. Yakov Silin, USUE rector and President of the Ural Branch of VEO of Russia, presented letters of thanks and certificates of honor for active participation and success in the implementation of the statutory goals of VEO.

The students of Ural State University of Economics, Master of Sports of Russia Matvey Nedbailo (group M-18-1) and International Grandmaster Damir Rysaev (group IVT-19-3), took part in the competition as the members of the Sverdlovsk region team.

On November 24, the chief specialists of the Sverdlovsk Regional Oncological Dispensary received their professional retraining certificates within the program «Economics for health care and public health organizations». The Institute of Continuing Professional Education at USUE organized this retraining program.

November 19, there was an online meeting of representatives of USUE and the Tashkent University of World Economy and Diplomacy. In the course of friendly communication, areas and directions of cooperation were identified and a plan of joint activities was outlined.

The Ural branch of the Free Economic Society of Russia has won the contest of regional organizations and branches of the VEO of Russia. Its results were summed up in the framework of the 5th jubilee All-Russian Economic Meeting dedicated to the 255th anniversary of the Free Economic Society of Russia and Economist’s Day. 

The project "Regional Interactive Forum ‘Etker’ (Heritage)” presented by the Department of Tourism Business and Hospitality reached the final of the Russian Event Awards 2020 in the field of event tourism. It will be held on December 8-10 in Yekaterinburg with the support of the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region and the Ministry of Investments and Regional Development.

After reconstruction, the Eurasia fitness club of Ural State University of Economics opened a gym, where new areas of group fitness are accompanied by a virtual journey. One of the first to appreciate this know-how was USUE rector Yakov Silin.

November 13, the rector of Ural State University of Economics, Yakov Silin, and the director of gymnasium No. 13, Rimma Stikhina, signed a cooperation agreement under which the parties will jointly implement a networking project. 

November 11, Ural State University of Economics held an Open Day for applicants-2021. At the online meeting, they talked about the most pressing issues: a new procedure for admission to universities in 2021, its deadlines, and a new list of USE necessary for admission.       

The Department of Chess Art and Computer Mathematics was organized at USUE in 2019 based on the Department of Applied Mathematics. The department successfully operates a Chess & Checkers Club. 

In Yekaterinburg, the Variety Theater hosted a Woman of the Year awards ceremony. This award is implemented with the support of the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region and is aimed at identifying talented and successful women who have achieved significant success in their activities and contributed to the creation of conditions for the socio-economic development of Yekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk Region.

At the Culture Center of Ural State University of Economics, they summed up the results of the International Forum "Business Battle for Young Entrepreneurs Russia - China". Experts selected 8 out of 40 business projects, which were qualified for the final of the competition. Among the participants were USUE students.

The business battle between young entrepreneurs of Russia and China, which takes place in Yekaterinburg from October 26 to October 29, began at Ural State University of Economics with a business meeting between the USUE rector Yakov Silin and the head of the International Activity Department at the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) Tatyana Seliverstova.

October 29, within the framework of the XII international research-to-practice conference "Decent Work - the Basis of a Stable Society", USUE hosted a plenary meeting "Personnel for New Industrialization" combined with the meeting of Commission on Competences and Qualifications Development of the Sverdlovsk Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs as planned by the business program of the national WorldSkills Hi-Tech - 2020 championship of cross-industry blue-collar occupations.

Participants in the Russia-China Business Battle for Young Entrepreneurs became acquainted with the traditions of business negotiations in China, learned about the mental characteristics of its citizens and the rules for enterprises entering Chinese markets.

Within the framework of the 2nd Ural Economic Forum "The Urals Area - a Driver of Neoindustrial and Innovative Development of Russia", an open lecture “Noonomy as a model of social order: prerequisites for the emergence, its essence, and mechanism of formation" was delivered online by Sergei Bodrunov, President of the Free Economic Society of Russia, President of the International Union of Economists, RAS expert, director of the S. Witte Institute of New Industrial Development.

Today, October 21, the 2nd Ural Economic Forum "The Ural Area - a Driver of Neoindustrial and Innovative Development of Russia" has started.

The Higher League games of the Russian Women's Chess Championship have finished in Sochi.We congratulate a USUE College student and world chess champion Leya Garifullina on her victory!

In accordance with the letter of the Federal service for supervision of consumer protection and human welfare (ROSPOTREBNADZOR) no. 02/17561-2020-32 from 25.08.2020, persons entering for education in Russian educational institutions of higher education (from 01.09.2020) and persons entering the Russian Federation for continuing higher education (from 15.10.2020) for a period of at least three months must have a medical document (in Russian and English) confirming a negative result of the COVID-19 PCR test, received at least 3 days before arrival in the Russian Federation.

October 13, a Swiss delegation consisting of representatives of companies successfully operating in Russian markets, including the Ural region, paid a friendly visit to USUE.

Student of the Year is the first national award established by the Russian Union of Youth and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

President of the USUE Eurasian Research Institute of Man, Academician of RAS, a member of the Presidiums of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences Valery Chereshnev held a regular meeting of the Eurasian Research Institute of Man. In the online mode on the YouTube channel, the academician again touched upon the hottest topic of concern to the entire world community: "COVID-19 infection: issues and remedies."

The 7th research-to-practice conference "Innovative technologies in food industry and public catering" was held on October 12 at Ural State University of Economics.

The 7thAll-Russian Summer Universiade - 2020 is taking place in Yekaterinburg. The court for volleyball competitions is provided by the sports complex of Ural State University of Economics. Competitions among women's teams will take place on October 11-13.

We congratulate USUE student, Yekaterina Pankova, a student of the Institute of Magistracy, on the appointment of Yegor Gaidar scholarship. Yekaterina won the competition for a personal scholarship from the Yegor Gaidar Foundation.

USUE students represented the team of the Sverdlovsk Region at the RF Championship and got "bronze" in the team competition.

October 2-3, students and teachers of the Department of Tourism Business and Hospitality of Ural State University of Economics took part in the International Tourism Exhibition EXPOTRAVEL-2020, one of the largest regional exhibitions in the tourist community of Yekaterinburg, co-organized by the Russian Union of Travel Industry.
