March 16-18, the IV international contest of student research-to-practice works "Russia in the Global World: Challenges of the XXI Century" is being held at USUE. The contest has been run by the USUE Department of Business Foreign Language since 2018. In 2021, students from USUE, RANEPA, and Petrozavodsk State University are taking part in it.     

Ural State University of Economics has joined the events dedicated to the Day of Crimea reunification with Russia. Within the framework of the national festival "Crimean Spring", 6th-grade pupils of school №91 in Yekaterinburg took part in a master class on cooking favorite dishes of Crimeans organized by the USUE Department of Nutrition Technology.

In the 2020-2021 academic year, 1200 international students from 56 countries of the world study at USUE. The training is organized remotely. 

Yakov Silin, rector of Ural State University of Economics held an online meeting with Almaz Kadyraliev, rector of M. Ryskulbekov Kyrgyz Economic University, and discussed the prospects for cooperation between the two universities.

The events of the World Consumer Rights Day-2021 continued at USUE with a public lecture "Service of the future: how to make friends with a consumer" delivered by the President of the Federation of Russian Auditors Galina Dragni.
