About research
Scientific activity is one of the key areas for the University.
Every year USUE holds more than 30 international and all-Russian scientific and practical events.
Research is carried out within the framework of 61 economic contracts, 18 grants, projects of Federal target programs.
USUE publishes two scientific journals, Journal of New Economy and “Upravlenets” (The Manager), included in the list of peer-reviewed scientific publications, as well as scientific and production journal "Food industry" and electronic scientific journal "E-FORUM". In 2018, Journal of New Economy for the first time received a two-year impact factor above 1 and took 21-st position among the economic journals of Russia, and "Manager" entered the TOP 10 on the subject of "Organization and management".
Over the past five years, the number of scientific papers of the University in various scientific publications has exceeded 2500 (according to RSCI). To date, USUE is among the top 5 universities of the Sverdlovsk region in terms of the majority of publication activity indicators, and in terms of the number of publications in the RSCI for 5 years it occupies an honorable second place. STUDENTS RESEARCH
Students' research is an integral part of training specialists at Ural State University of Economics and is one of the main tasks of USUE to be solved on the basis of the unity of academic, scientific, and extracurricular processes.
Scientific research serves to form students as creative minds who are able to properly and efficiently address problems that they would face.
Annually, USUE organizes a number of scientific and practical events for students of the University: conferences, roundtables, competitions, scientific seminars, and public lectures on scientific topics. Besides, USUE students can take part in external scientific and practical events.
USUE students have the opportunity to receive scholarships of the USUE Academic Council, Professor N.G.Veselov's scholarships, scholarships of the Sverdlovsk region Governor, scholarships of the President of the Russian Federation, and scholarships of the Government of the Russian Federation.
The University's Student Scientific Society (SSS) functions as a public organization, on a voluntary basis uniting students who are vigorously involved in scientific, organizational, and research work. Its governing body - the SSS Council - consists of students representing all the institutes of the University. Since 2014, the SSS Council has been holding a competition of academic groups "The Best Group of the Year in Research".
