Moscow hosted the Congress of the Union of Mechanical Engineers of Russia. USUE acting rector Yakov Silin participated in the event as part of the Sverdlovsk region's delegation.

The Congress of the Russian Union of Mechanical Engineers is a large-scale event that brings together representatives from industry, government agencies, and scientific and expert communities. This significant event defines the strategic priorities for the development of mechanical engineering in the country in the coming years. The keynote address at the 10th Congress of the Russian Union of Mechanical Engineers was Russian President Vladimir Putin's speech.
In his address, the head of the country noted that Russian industry, science, and education possess significant potential, which serves as a reliable foundation for the country's sovereign development. This creates conditions for sustainable economic growth, the development of a supply-side economy, modern job gains, the strengthening of defense capability, and the expansion of high-tech exports.

The Sverdlovsk region delegation included Anatoly Sludnykh, Chairperson of the Sverdlovsk regional branch of the Union of Mechanical Engineers and CEO of JSC Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant named after E.S. Yalamov; Yakov Silin, acting rector of Ural State University of Economics; Pavel Lyzhin, head of the Representative Office of the Rostec State Corporation in the Sverdlovsk region; and representatives of major mechanical engineering companies, leading universities, and businesses in the Middle Urals.

The plenary session summarized the activities of the Russian Union of Mechanical Engineers over the past five years, identified key development areas, and presented work plans for a new five-year period. Keynote addresses were given by Sergey Chemezov, Chairman of the Russian Union of Mechanical Engineers and CEO of Rostec State Corporation, and Vladimir Gutenev, First Vice President of the Union and Chairperson of the State Duma Committee on Industry and Trade. Minister of Science and Higher Education, Valery Falkov, emphasized the importance of integrating science, education, and industry. During the meeting, Anatoly Sludnykh was elected to the Central Council of the Union of Mechanical Engineers of Russia.

Ural State University of Economics and the Union of Mechanical Engineers of the Sverdlovsk region have enjoyed a long-standing, strong, and productive relationship. The university and some industrial enterprises have bilateral agreements on the implementation of educational projects and specialized training programs. Particular attention is paid to developing a talent pool for the mechanical engineering industry, as well as educational, research, and career guidance initiatives. The university implements continuing professional education, corporate training, and career guidance programs tailored to the industry's current needs.

The university's participation in industry events shows its proactive stance. USUE is involved in the development of mechanical engineering, promptly responds to industry challenges, and continues to expand its partnerships with the industry.
