URFO SAMBO CHAMPIONSHIP AND COMPETITION - 2020
From 17 to 20 December 2020, Yekaterinburg Rodina Sports Complex hosted sambo competition and championship of the Ural Federal District (URFO) among men and women.
More than 300 athletes from the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra, Tyumen, Kurgan, Chelyabinsk, and Sverdlovsk regions took part in the competitions.
In the weight category up to 65 kg, Varuzhan Sargsyan, a student of the USUE College (group 18-01-K), took part in the URFO sambo competition among youths. He was the second and received a pass to the national competition to be held on February 14, 2021, in Raduzhny.
In the URFO Sambo Championship among men, Varuzhan Sargsyan again drew forth his best qualities, showing a high level of excellence in sambo wrestling. He took II place in the weight category up to 65 kg, which gives him the right to participate in the Russian championship and be qualified for the master of sports of Russia in sambo.
The Russian Sambo Championship will be held in March 2021 in Orenburg. We wish Varuzhan strength and health in the upcoming competitions!
